Newcastle-on-Tyne, England - Northern Film and Media today published insights from Creating Success, a £200,000 company development scheme to be delivered by Pembridge, providing support for film, TV and digital media organisations to produce and execute individual business plans. The aim is to boost productivity, helping them to become more innovative, competitive and entrepreneurial, and bringing access to the investment and skills they need to succeed.
The first stage of Creating Success saw Pembridge consulting in depth with more than fifty film, TV and digital media organisations across the North East of England to produce a report. The report maps their needs, ambitions and the potential they see for the future and sets out objective benchmarks that, for the first time, let them see where they stand in relation to their peer group and how their businesses measure up to similar creative firms in other regions.
Hugh Mason, partner at Pembridge, said, "Film, TV and digital media companies in the North East have a strong creative track record and we look forward to helping them secure commensurate commercial success. With all the talent in the North East there's no reason these firms can't win a bigger slice of the pie."
The next step will be for Pembridge to work with firms selected by Northern Film & Media to produce and execute plans to take them forward, starting in August. As it does so, the benchmarks already set down will allow an objective demonstration of the impact Pembridge makes. Firms eligible to apply for this next phase of Creating Success range from start-ups through to established businesses; private companies through to not-for-profit public enterprises.
Tom Harvey, Northern Film & Media CEO said, "Northern Film & Media's goal is to generate a much larger media economy in the North East by investing not only in scripts and production but also in training, skills, education and other community initiatives. Pembridge and Creating Success will help many highly creative, yet badly over-worked firms in the region to build commercially successful businesses."
