Pembridge, which provides advice and investment to creative firms, and Burns Owens Partnership, an economic development consultancy specialising in the creative industries, have joined the University of Westminster’s enterprise team, WestmARC, to add their industry-specific expertise to an industry steering group which aims to offer the best available business support for the TV & Film sector.
This business growth and development programme will support TV and Film businesses to help them take control of their company’s future. The programme will profile companies and identify the most promising companies that will be eligible for executive support and mentoring.
Through an innovative assessment process, developed by Pembridge and BOP called Vital Statistics, each participating company will receive a report that profiles their business and benchmarks it against its competitors. Additionally, the project will deliver extensive and in-depth sector insight into the challenges currently faced by TV & Film businesses.
Hugh Mason, Partner at Pembridge, explains: “At Pembridge and BOP we have over five years experience mapping out the creative landscape and improving business support for TV and Film businesses. Participants in previous support programmes felt that the process and the advice made them focus on the growth of themselves and their business”.
Richard Naylor, Senior Consultant at BOP, agrees and adds: “This initiative will result in valuable sector insight but it will also help each and every participating firm”.
The project application process will be launched on 19th September 2006 and will run for one month after which a selected number of businesses shall receive an individual one on one mentoring and advice session with John Howkins.
