Leicestershire, England -
Stocks Taylor Benson (STB) is an eighteen year-old graphic design agency with twenty-seven full-time staff. In 2006 the directors of STB participated in the Small / Medium / Large (SML) scheme delivered by Pembridge.
With a good history of growth and profits, founders Glenn Taylor and John Benson came into the SML programme knowing that there was strong potential to grow and realise the value in the business they have built together. The key to doing it would be to restructure the business to make it run independently of themselves as founders.
“We knew what needed to do but the SML scheme helped galvanise us into action,” says Glenn. “David Prais and Rose Lewis from Pembridge kicked off by running a very focussed planning meeting that set out a tick list of practical things to do and I think they were quite surprised to follow up next month and find how much progress we had made down that list!”
SML has given Stocks Taylor Benson the impetus to hire a new Managing Director and follow through on setting up a structure that will lay the foundations for a radically new future. Despite all the changes, the company has had its best ever trading year and is now well ahead of the targets it set itself when starting SML.
“It’s clear that the management team at STB are truly committed to growth,” says Pembridge Partner and SML mentor Rose Lewis. “Sometimes all it takes to help a company move onto a new level is the external validation of someone who understands the industry. Stocks Taylor Benson has every reason to feel confident about its future. The management team’s success is all their own and we’re delighted to have helped along the way as a catalyst for change.”
