Birmingham, England - Earlier today, Pembridge's Vital Statistics tool became a key element in the new Service by Design project launched recently by the University of Central England. The project will use Vital Statistics to give up to 200 organisations spanning a wide range of sectors individual profile reports that show how they compare to their peers and where their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats may lie.
The UCE Birmingham Service by Design programme, which is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), aims to raise awareness of the potential for service design to improve process effectiveness and business opportunities in the public, not for profit and private sectors.
Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), public sector organisations and not-for-profit enterprises will participate in the programme. These organisations, supported by experts from within the University, will examine their business from a customer focused and design centred perspective to identify the current strengths and weaknesses of their operations. Opportunities and threats to the business will be highlighted and recommendations made as to how these may be addressed through service design.
