London, England -- Pembridge Partners LLP announces that it has invested in Omobono, a marketing services consultancy which advises B2B clients.
The firm specialised in Advertising until a few years ago when it began to broaden services into the digital arena and now delivers innovative and highly creative and communications consultancy, backed up with software development capability.
The investment was made through the Pembridge Extreme Services Fund launched in April 2008. This is one of three investment clubs comprising high-net worth investors and corporates, in which Pembridge participates.
Rose Lewis, Pembridge Partner notes: “This is a perfect deal for Pembridge – we worked with the firm and got to know them, we identified where we could help each other, introduced them to the Pembridge Extreme Services Fund in May and completed our investment in October. The firm fits our critera – principally a motivated, energetic and clear management team.”
What Motivated Pembridge
In particular, Pembridge was impressed with the management team – three people who knew what they wanted from the business, who knew each other and who together formed a motivated coherent team. The team had both a track record and had achieved success in delivering very interesting new services such as games and gaming for business, social network engagement, data visualisation and a virtual worlds advisory service. These were supported with development skills – the ability to underpin all consultancy with an online programme and custom-developed software.
Pembridge Approach To Investment
The investment follows Pembridge’s typical modus operandi:
- A minority stake (in this case 10%)
- Supporting management
- 3-5 year business plan
- Pembridge targets on adding value to the firm over and above the core plan
- Pembridge takes Board role at Management’s request
Great to see that NMA covered this story (http://tinyurl.com/5pgbew) but there’s an error we need to correct: our Fund invests *up to* £500k at a time and the actual investment in Omobono is undisclosed.
